To achieve both qualifications, you must have complete at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency for the Ageing Support qualification and at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency for Disability qualification.
If you are unable to demonstrate the required tasks within their workplace as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency, then you will need to undertake supervised practical placement(s) to fulfil these requirements.
Where this is required, Warner Institute will organise and schedule your supervised practical work placement with an approved host provider, including having you assessed by a qualified Warner Institute Course Manager (Trainer & Assessor).
Your Supervised Practical Work Placement hours will be undertaken at the location of your host placement provider(s) on non-class days. Your placement shifts will be scheduled by your host placement provider.
Note that if you do not accept the host placement provider(s) as organised by Warner Institute then you will be required to seek your own alternative Warner Institute approved provider and this may delay your successful completion of the course.
Successfully completing this nationally accredited course provides you with the qualifications to work in a range of roles within the aged care, home & community or disability sector.
You'll be making a real difference to peoples lives through supporting older people to live independently, fully, and with dignity and helping those living with disability or with complex needs to achieve their goals, develop their capabilities and build independence, and fully participate in the community.
Working in the care and support sector can provide flexibility, with the opportunity to work part-time, full-time or casual shifts around your other commitments.
These roles include but not limited to working as a; Support Worker, Personal care worker, Care supervisor, Community support worker, Accommodation support worker, Hostel supervisor, Assistant hostel supervisor, Program coordinator - social programs, Care team leader, Residential care worker or a Day activity worker.
The option exists to apply to add the accredited unit, HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication to your course.
If you elect to add this unit to your course, you will be required to attend 2 x additional training sessions, undertake and complete additional assessment tasks, and there may be an increase in your Tuition Fee (Refer to Course Guide).
This option is only available where it has been previously confirmed to you by a Warner Institute representative that your employer and/or host work placement provider will support you to demonstrate the required tasks within your workplace as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the unit of competency within an appropriate setting where medications are administered under the supervision of an appropriately qualified staff member.
A workplace observation assessment will also be conducted by an appropriately qualified Warner Institute Assessor. Due to the restrictions on the availability of the subject matter experts who present the Medications workshops, the technical nature of the subject matter and also the progressive nature of these assessment clusters, there are no catch-up sessions available if you do not attend your scheduled sessions.
If you do not attend your scheduled workshop sessions for the Medications workshop, then your participation will not be rescheduled unless an availability exists on a future date in an alternative course as determined by Warner Institute.T
his medications unit is additional to the course and its successful completion is not required to successfully attain your Certificate IV level qualifications.
If you’re not currently working in direct support role, you'll undertake a series of additional workplace skills sessions. These sessions will further support your learning journey and better assist your understanding of complex tasks and concepts if you’re not currently working in direct support role. These workplace skill sessions are mandatory for all participants who are not currently working in a direct support worker/carer role.

Your Course Manager is available to support you between sessions if you get stuck. You can call, text or email them and they’ll respond back to you with the support you need. Your Course Consultant is there for you too.
Coaching Sessions are included within the delivery of the course. These are scheduled at regular points throughout the program. These Coaching Sessions have been created to support you with individual coaching including simulated tasks, role-play assessments, subject matter revision, workplace assessment, review and any required catch-up.
You will require access to a computer or tablet and reliable internet access and capacity to stream video with audio for any online classroom sessions, including any catch-up sessions. You will be required to log on for the duration of each session with both your camera and microphone activated.
Successful completion of both qualifications will see you graduate with 2 x nationally accredited qualifications: CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support & CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability.
