How will Whole Person Learning help me?

Our Whole Person Learning Model understands that you are unique and human and not a 'widget' in some training, factory-like, production line.

Few of us learn everything when it's delivered on a monotonous, boring, lecture-like standard way.

We understand that learning is more effective, interesting and fun if it draws on a variety of different modes; Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic.

This is why in every session, you'll get to talk, listen, role-play, watch, ask questions, solve and read. This means that you'll learn in ways that best suit you because the material is engaging and accessible.

Will you organise my practical work placement for me?

If you're currently working in an activity role, the hours you work will be credited towards the 120 hours minimum work experience required for this qualification. You will need a mix of aged and disability sector experience. You will be provided with Warner Institute documentation to complete to prove your work hours in each sector.

If you're not currently working in an activity role:
We will organise your supervised work placement. This qualification has a practical experience requirement of 120 x hours. You will undertake two placement blocks throughout this course, 1-2 weeks in Leisure and Health(Disability), and 2-weeks in Leisure and Health(Ageing).

These will be scheduled in the 2nd half of your course. Your Host Placement Providers will nominate the dates and times of your placement shifts.

If you are unable to demonstrate the required tasks within their workplace as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency, then you will need to undertake a supervised practical placement to fulfil these requirements.

Where this is required, Warner Institute will organise and schedule your supervised practical work placement with an approved host provider, including having you assessed by a qualified Warner Institute Course Manager (Trainer & Assessor).

Your Supervised Practical Work Placement hours will be undertaken at the location of your host placement provider(s) on non-class days. Your placement shifts will be scheduled by your host placement provider.

Note that if you do not accept the host placement provider(s) as organised by Warner Institute then you will be required to seek your own alternative Warner Institute approved provider and this may delay your successful completion of the course.
