Applied Investigations Skills

Workplace Outcomes

You’ll see your Officers develop the skills and confidence to manage thorough investigations, including considerations such as:
• planning an effective investigation,
• managing the scene,
• identifying witnesses,
• understanding the evidence required to prove the offence,
• complete and compliant statement taking, and
• collecting and securing evidence.


This Short Course has been specifically designed by Warner Institute and contains the nationally accredited units:
• PSPINV001 Plan and initiate an investigation
• PSPINV004 Conduct an investigation
• PSPREG012 Gather information through interviews

Collating and Presenting a Comprehensive Brief of Evidence

Workplace Outcomes

You’ll see your Officers’ confidence grow, so that they can identify the evidence that belongs in their brief, and represent your organisation professionally and competently in Court - so you achieve the legal outcomes you need.

Your Officers will:
• review the scenario and all evidence provided to them,
• collate a brief of evidence to prove the offence, and
• present their evidence under examination and cross-examination.


This Short Course has been specifically designed by Warner Institute and contains the nationally accredited units:
• PSPREG010  Prepare a brief of evidence
• PSPREG038 Give evidence

From Theory to Practice -
Animal Management

Workplace Outcomes

Your Officers will appreciate the perfect mix of classroom learning and practical experience where they’ll demonstrate their skills and knowledge.
Across a 2-day period, your officers will become more knowledgeable in:
• understanding the application of their powers,
• theory around animal management,
• recognising animal behaviour,
• managing their own and others’ safety,
• planning an impound or seizure, and
• managing animal welfare and safety.

Managing Conflict &
Building Personal Resilience

Workplace Outcomes

Your Officers will develop their emotional intelligence, active listening and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage or prevent conflict escalation.
This course provides the theory and pracical frameworks your team needs, to:
• reduce conflict, particularly with members of the public,
• mantain their safety, and the safety of others, and
• support their resilience and wellbeing.

Debrief. Support. Strengthen - Building Resilience in Your Team

Workplace Outcomes

You’ll see your Leaders develop the skills and awareness to support their team members who have experienced trauma or workplace-related stress, beyond the initial response to “are you ok?”.

They will feel more comfortable “reaching in” to check on their team’s emotional wellbeing, and responding to the individual needs of their team members.

This non-accredited course has been purpose-built to meet the needs of your Leaders, including:
• understanding situations that may lead to trauma or build-up of psychological stress,
• identifying different types of supports, and understand when they are appropriate,
• recognising the limitations of their own training and ability, and when to refer to professional services,
• gaining a more thorough understanding of workplace debriefing,
• understanding the impact of trauma on individuals and teams, and
• understanding the impact to business when individuals and teams are not resilient.
